The closing of the Suffolk Fishermen Collection. A series of works made using the remaining ash from traditional smokehouses in Suffolk.
The original collection developed by Chloé Rosetta Bell for The Merchant’s Table looked at the people, materials and tools connected to Suffolk’s fishing and smokehouse traditions. Waste crab shells from local fishermen and ash from traditional smokehouses became materials within the collection, allowing the objects to hold a connection to the people and working landscape that shaped them.
Part Two of the collection coming late September.
