Chloé Rosetta Bell

The Closing Collection of the Suffolk Fishermen

The Suffolk Fishermen, connected to Suffolk’s fishing and smokehouse traditions, by Chloé Rosetta Bell.

This latest collection from Chloé marks the closing of the Suffolk Fishermen Collection. A series of works made using the remaining ash from traditional smokehouses in Suffolk.

The original collection created by Chloé Rosetta Bell for The Merchant’s Table looked at the people, materials and tools connected to Suffolk’s fishing and smokehouse traditions.
Local chef, Nicola Hordern took Chloé along the Suffolk coastline to meet fishermen and fish smokers. Waste crab shells and ash were collected and became materials within the collection, allowing the objects to hold a connection to the people and working landscape that shaped them.

The collection will be showing on Saturday 31st October and Sunday 1st November, at The Watch House, Orford, Suffolk.

A Sunday Gathering

To mark the occasion, join us on Sunday for drinks and seasonal nibbles by chef Nicola Hordern & Lindsay Wright of Silva.
Nicola and Lindsay’s menu will thoughtfully echo the flavours of the original launch supper we held for this collection, bringing the story of the Suffolk coast full circle through taste.
