The Kersey Oak & Walnut Side Tables are by Suffolk furniture maker Jim Bennett.

Working from his Suffolk workshop, Jim has created the Kersey Oak & Walnut Side Table exclusively for The Merchant’s Table’s British handmade furniture collection.

The side tables are well proportioned and useful side tables or bedside tables, to sit confidently within a traditional or contemporary home.

Crafted from locally felled timber, quarter sawn English Oak has been chosen for the top and tapered legs, showcasing the amazing pattern of glistening medullary rays across the timber. With the contrasting darker tones of English Walnut, sourced from a local luthier, used for the shelf and the woven lower tray.

The side tables are available with the option of a single drawer, made of English Oak with a contrasting Walnut base, or with a shelf in place of the drawer and the introduction of a woven Walnut lower shelf, both strong and decorative.

With each table handcrafted to order, elements are interchangeable - with a drawer or top shelf paired with a woven or solid walnut lower shelf.

The tables are finished with a Danish oil which brings out the grain and leaves a hardwearing surface without a ‘polished’ finish.

Furniture to last a lifetime and beyond.
