Jim Bennett is a designer and maker specialising in handmade furniture, kitchen and homewares in his workshop on a farm in rural Suffolk. 

 

His work uses traditional joinery methods to produce contemporary designs relevant to modern living. Whilst  the workshop is equipped with some machines,  most of his work is made by hand, allowing him to consider each piece and work with the character of the wood. As a result each one is slightly different.

 

The timber used in The Merchant‘s Table comes from locally felled trees and some which have been stored in a barn for over 30 years since the storm of 1987.
