Jack Wheeler
Jack Wheeler studied fine art sculpture at Norwich Art School and after graduating in 2003 he set up a workshop in rural North Norfolk.
Jack Wheeler creates exquisitely crafted wooden tablewares which are as beautifully sculptural as they are functional, skilfully hand carved and shaped from native woods using traditional tools and techniques.
Jack’s workshop is on a small rural Estate in the village of Honing where he lives. The wood he uses comes almost exclusively from the woodland on the Estate, all within a mile or two of the workshop itself! He sometimes work with windblown trees, but also fell and process trees as part of the wider Estate woodland management.
Inspired by craft traditions and wood culture from around the world, Jack’s work champions the use of locally grown timber and seeks to give pleasure and meaning through a direct connection with the natural world and the hand of the maker.
