Helen Miller is a photographer, writer and documentary filmmaker. She is the founder of Fazzi Nanini Editions, an independent publishing house in Suffolk.

She is currently creating a series of books, autobiographical stories that insist on being told, the ones that cannot be understood until written.

The books are slim and soft to hold, designed to consider both the narrative within and the tactile experience of the reader. Her writing begins with photographs, although occasionally memory takes their place.

An interdisciplinary maker, she moves easily across genres. Her process of writing involves a personal investigation; detail is acutely observed; dates and diaries are studied; memory is questioned; art and its history are harnessed from her lived experience; each story unravelling from the perspective of a photographer.

Helen has contributed widely to the art and media industries. She graduated in Fine Art, then spent two years in a darkroom at the The Slade School of Fine Art, London. Suffolk offers solitude and open landscapes, a place to expand the mind, and where ideas can be nurtured.

When not at her desk in Aldeburgh, she lives with her family and herd of horses in Aragon, Spain.
