Celia Wood

Celia studied illustration at Edinburgh College of Art, and found ceramics through evening classes ‘It made sense to me to use ceramics as a canvas for storytelling’. 
Her interests are Folk art, pattern and literature. Patterns in nature, seasons, slow living, rest, food and community and FUN! Celia aims be as playful and fun in her work as possible, never taking the illustrations too seriously, in the hope her pieces bring a lightness to peoples’ homes. 
Celia'a process starts with research; either a drawing trip or inspired by a piece of literature. She will use her sketchbook to draw ideas down and then work out what vessel/clay/ceramic process would execute that most successfully.
