An illustrator and ceramicist,Alex Sickling graduated from Leeds College of Art in 2012 and is now based in Newcastle. Alex explores the process of image making through ceramic objects, creating both functional and decorative pieces.

Alex’s influences include folklore, popular culture and 18th and 19th Century pottery, as well as the animal kingdom, with a love for Staffordshire pottery and the Victorian era, manifested in her contemporary take on the classic mantlepiece Staffordshire Spaniels.
Her ceramics are joyous in their hand-painted finish, applying dot work patterns, washes of colour and intricate details.
